Leadership Metro Richmond is pleased to be a founding partner and community sponsor of Richmond History Makers.  These awards, launched in 2005 by The Valentine,  annually recognize, honor and celebrate those everyday citizens and outstanding organizations that are making significant contributions to the greater Richmond region.  LMR members lead the selection committee each year and have the immense task of reviewing the nominations and selecting an honoree for each of the five award categories: Creating Quality Educational Opportunities, Demonstrating Innovative Solutions, Encouraging Regional Collaboration, Improving Social Justice, and Promoting Stronger Communities.  Public nominations are accepted each year beginning on May 1 and ending on June 30.
